Pregnant the fish!

Ethan and I  have been trying to catch goldfish. We only caught one and here it is. Ethan thought it looked pregnant so that's what it's name is. Haha!

Stanley!

Here's my barnyard buddy this week. He's actually becoming really sweet which is great. He probably won't show good, but I'd like to keep him as a breeding rooster(so we don't have to deal with hatcheries next year). He has a hole in the web of his foot and his comb is messed up. It's a rose come, so it should have a point at the back, but he and his brother Conrad have indents.

I know this looks really cruel, but I swear he's fine. Holding a chicken upside down for too long can kill them, however, I just flip him over for a second. I think it's really funny and shows how calm he is. I love this guy!

2012 chicks

These are some of last years chicks. There are some Buff Brahmas, an Ameraucana, and Salmon Faverolles.

 

 

 

The Buff Brahmas turned out gorgeous and one of the bantams even won Reserve Grand Champion 4h class at our county fair 2012. The Ameraucana we still have as well and is really pretty or was until the rooster, James, ripped her feathers out. She's a really good layer and we love the green eggs. The Salmon Faverolles on the other hand were pretty awful from the site we ordered. This breed is hard to get a perfect one. We had 2 and one of them was a cross-beak and ended up dying. They both had awful coloring, with black and brown mixed in. Overall this was a pretty good order.
